Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity Outdone by Canal Winchester, 9-5

Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity got things started in the first inning when Sara Dale singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Canal Winchester knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning, when Julia Nein grounded out, scoring one run.

Canal Winchester pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Samantha Zungri singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs and Samantha Peters doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Canal Winchester scored five runs in the fifth inning. Emma Kamerer, Dani Skinner, and Peters all drove in runs in the frame.

Zungri led the Canal Winchester to victory in the circle. Zungri went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out three. Peters threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Kendall Timms took the loss for Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity. The pitcher surrendered four runs on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.

Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity tallied eight hits. Morgan Beals and Sutton Evans each collected multiple hits for Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity. Evans and Beals each collected two hits to lead Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Varsity.

Canal Winchester scattered 15 hits in the game. Riley McNeely, Katie Bryant, Peters, Kamerer, and Zungri all had multiple hits for Canal Winchester. McNeely led Canal Winchester with three hits in four at bats.
