Despite Strong Fight, Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves Can’t Top Canal Winchester

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves’s effort to come back from down ten runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 14-12 to Canal Winchester on Saturday. Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves managed nine runs in the failed comeback. Meena Lee, Bella Post, Lee, Sutton Evans, Yvonne Wang, and Josie Janosy all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves couldn’t keep up with Canal Winchester early in the game. Canal Winchester scored on an error, a triple by Julia Nein, a double by Delaney Six, and a single by Emma Kamerer in the second inning.

Canal Winchester fired up the offense in the second inning. An error scored one run for Canal Winchester.

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves put up four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Wang and Janosy.

Canal Winchester scored seven runs in the third inning. Izzy Kissinger, Megan McCoy, Nein, Six, Kendall Rudd, and Kissinger each had RBIs in the big inning.

Grace Brinker led the Canal Winchester to victory in the circle. The hurler surrendered 12 runs on 14 hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Lee took the loss for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. The bulldog lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.

Becca Boue started the game for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and 11 runs while striking out two and walking zero

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves racked up 14 hits. Lee, Sara Dale, and Brynley Rung each racked up multiple hits for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. Dale and Lee each managed three hits to lead Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves.

Canal Winchester racked up 15 hits on the day. Rudd, Kamerer, Abigail McIntosh, Six, and Kissinger all managed multiple hits for Canal Winchester. Rudd went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Canal Winchester in hits.
