Early Lead For Dublin Scioto Seals Fate For Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-4 loss to Dublin Scioto on Monday. Dublin Scioto scored on a double by Caroline Piatt and a groundout by Nina Moffett in the first inning.

The Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Dublin Scioto, giving up 14 runs.

Dublin Scioto got things moving in the first inning, when Piatt doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Dublin Scioto scored six runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Dublin Scioto came thanks to triples by Sara Jauregui, Bella Jauregui, and Maddy Comstock and a single by Piatt.

Taylor Henry earned the victory in the circle for Dublin Scioto. The fireballer surrendered four runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Meena Lee took the loss for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.

Josie Janosy went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves in hits.

Dublin Scioto tallied 14 hits on the day. Piatt, Jauregui, Moffett, Jauregui, and Comstock each managed multiple hits for Dublin Scioto. Piatt led Dublin Scioto with three hits in five at bats.
