Big Walnut Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-5 loss to Big Walnut on Tuesday. Big Walnut took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Big Walnut opened up scoring in the first inning, when A Weiss singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves scored three runs in the fourth inning. Becca Boue and Meena Lee all drove in runs in the frame.

Big Walnut scored eight runs in the third inning. The big inning for Big Walnut came thanks to singles by H Greathouse, J Hayes, A Lott, and L Long, an error on a ball put in play by S Gorringe and T Walters, by Weiss, and a double by Long.

Weiss was credited with the victory for Big Walnut. The bulldog surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two and walking zero. Q Kuhlmam threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Boue took the loss for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on nine hits over three and two-thirds innings, walking one.

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves hit one home run on the day. Yvonne Wang went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves totaled eight hits. Wang and Karris Stuttard each racked up multiple hits for Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves. Stuttard and Wang each collected two hits to lead Worthington Kilbourne Varsity Wolves.

Big Walnut tallied 14 hits in the game. Lott, Long, Weiss, Hayes, and Walters each collected multiple hits for Big Walnut. Big Walnut was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Lott made the most plays with 11.
